6 January 2019 – First Sunday of the Month – One Metre Day

Cold, wind west north westerly force 2 to 3.

Because the water depth had recovered over the winter, this was the first time the One Metres had been raced for a long time

Those racing from time to time were: Leslie, Grant, Hugh and Jim. John came but did not race. Wind on the pond was light and shifting. In the lulls the boats were very slow and although the course had been shortened the races took a fair time to complete. Because of the cold conditions five races were felt to be enough. The usual enthusiastic spectators gathered to watch, although the cold meant there were less people on the common than usual.

Race 1: Leslie, Hugh, Jim
Race 2: Hugh, Leslie, Jim
Race 3: Leslie, Hugh, Jim
Race 4: Jim, Leslie, Hugh
Race 5: Jim, Leslie, Hugh
