I regret that I was not at the pond on Sunday so once again I am indebted to Hugh for a report. It does look as though there were not many there, perhaps holidays are to blame, I myself took one look at the weather when I got up and decided that I did not want to get wet.
Results are as follows.
Race 1. Leslie, Grant, Fred (what is Fred doing there?)
Race 2. Fred!, Grant, Leslie
Race 3. Hugh, Leslie, Grant
Race 4. Leslie, Grant, Fred
Race 5. Grant, Leslie, Ralf(a visitor)
Race 6. Grant, Leslie, Hugh
Race 7. Grant, Hugh, Leslie
Race 8. Hugh, Grant, Leslie
Race 9. Hugh, Grant, Leslie

Hope to see you all on the 7th August, by which time I shall be one year older and even more decrepit! Derek.

A disapointing day at Clapham with a poor attendance and very light winds. Of those who did turn up a couple spent some time rigging their boats and no racing as such took place until almost 12 noon, and the very few races that then did take place took a long time to complete due to the lack of wind. Lunch was taken early and there seemed little inclination to continue afterward and the meeting closed early. I can only hope that the poor attendance was due to holidays or other committments and that things will pick up at the next scheduled meeting on the 17th July.
NOTE. There is a Vintage Group meeting next Sunday, the 10th July. It would be nice if some of our members turned up to give support. Derek.
