The Long Pond on the 12th December.

December 13, 2010 at 12:11 pm | Posted in News | 1 Comment

The 12th was not a scheduled racing day, just as well because the pond has been frozen solid for the last week or more. Alan had told me on Wednesday that it was frozen and that there was all sorts of rubish lying on the ice. I telephoned Victor on Wednesday to ask him if he would remove the rubish before the pond thawed and dumped it all in the pond. He said he would have a try. We can only hope he will succeed. The weather remaining so cold it is unlikely the pond will thaw soon and there could be no racing untill the new year, but let us hope it will not be that bad.
May I wish all Club members a happy and healthy Christmas and a great new yeat. May all our Sundays be sunny. My regards to you all, Derek.
